The Switchbak combines herbal notes with rye whiskey, apple, and the flavors of cacao and vanilla from our Amores.
Combine all ingredients in a shaker with ice, strain and pour into a cocktail coupe glass. Serve with an orange twist for garnish and herb sprig of choice.
*To make this herbal demerara simple syrup dissolve 2 cups cane sugar in 1 cup water over a low heat. Add 4 smashed juniper berries, 1/2 cup whole star anise, 1/2 cup whole vanilla bean, 3 sprigs of thyme, 10 whole mint leaves, and 1/4 cup dried orange peel. Stir frequently on a slight simmer for 8 minutes. Strain syrup and cool in fridge. The batch is good up to two weeks.
